day 3 the story of the flood
ahh, who can forget the amazing story of noah? could it possibly be that dinosaurs were huge that they couldn't fit in the ark (dimensions: 450ft long x 75ft wide x 45ft high)? maybe the dinosaurs were extinct then since it is believed that the great flood happened approximately 2319BC. rain fell for 40 days 40 nights, and the waters flooded the earth for 150 days. the great flood occurred because the people were corrupted and there was full of violence. noah found favor in God's eyes, so he and his family were saved. also noted that at the end of bad things, good stuff happens. despite God's wrath, He protects His loved ones. God took noah into the flood AND He also brought himm out of it. then God made a covenant to us that never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth (gen 9:11).
another interesting note: since God was not contend with man for ever, man's days were limited to 120 years old (gen 6:3c). no more 900+ year old guys since.
read the book's bird eye view of genesis: (teaching) God is the Creator of the world. though man broke off his friendship with God by a deliberate act of disobedience, God will continually calls on man to live with Him in trust and obedience. Obedience- a very tough action but necessary for the salvation of my soul!
