day 4: from the flood to the patriarchs

ham's descendant- the canaanite tribe was cursed because of ham's sin. interesting to note that the sin of the father seems to trickle down the heritage line. ham did not cover his father-noah's nakedness when noah was drunk one day. his brothers covered him instead, hence the curse was that the canaanite clans will be the lowest of slaves and will he be to his brothers.
men continued to sin (gen 11) when they decided to build a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that they might make a name for themselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole eart. But God was not pleased and reasoned that men could plan to do anything. So God confused the men's language and scattered them from there over all the earth. the place was called Babel- because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world.
was quite monotonous when reading the genealogies of our forefathers. but laughed when saw this in for thought and contemplation: some regard the genealogies here as dull and uninteresting, but it is a lesson in how God pays attention to details. He is concerned not only about the general features of your life but every detail of it. remember that the next time you feel God doesn't care.
